The Comic Doctor submits cards to PSA as an authorized dealer.
On this page you can find PSA card grading service fee information, including all the tiers that we submit towards. For any tiers not listed, please contact us to evaluate your situation on a case-by-case basis.
Your cards are shipped as soon as they are pressed and cleaned, avoiding the need to collect a large order. This helps speed up the grading process, making us one of the best and most efficient grading service submission companies in the country. Please keep in mind that our bulk submissions do require 20 cards to process.

When you work with The Comic Doctor, your fees include:
- Individual client dossier/submissions. Your cards are not combined with other submissions.
- All the PSA paperwork for your submission.
- Proper packing of your cleaned cards, including a new penny sleeve and semi-rigid toploader.
- Management of shipping and customs documentation.
- Communication with PSA when/if the need arises.
- Additional support necessary for the return of damaged slabs to the grading company when/if the need arises.

What should I keep in mind before submitting my cards for The Comic Doctor services and grading?
Be certain to inspect your cards carefully before submitting. Ensure to note pre-existing conditions that cannot be fixed such as edgewear, significant creases, significant scratches to card surface, off-center printing, etc. While the Comic Doctor will contact you if there are any concerns, The Comic Doctor’s cleaning and pressing service can only do so much. That said, expectations should be tempered when submitting cards.
What are my shipping options?
Shipping to and from PSA: Cards are shipping to PSA as soon as pressing and cleaning are completed. Shipping cards to PSA (for both Canadian and US clients) and back to The Comic Doctor (for Canadian clients) vary based on bulk vs regular submission.
For Canadian Clients:
BULK submissions (20+ cards): Shipping to and from PSA is included in the listed service fees.
REGULAR submissions (19 cards or less): Shipping to PSA is included in the listed service fee. A $30 fee will be charged for each tier being returned to the Comic Doctor’s shop in Oshawa from PSA.
We recommend that clients gather a minimum of 20 cards per tier before making a submission. Submissions of 20 cards or more will have no shipping costs associated with the order.
For US Clients: Shipping cards to PSA is included in your service fees. Once graded, cards will be shipped to clients directly from PSA. PSA does not combine tiers and will ship each tier out individually. Please see the “How can I receive my cards after they are graded?” FAQ tab below for more information.
Getting My Graded Cards Back from PSA: Cards returned from PSA to The Comic Doctor (Canadian clients only) can be shipped to clients for a fee. US clients receive their cards directly from PSA. Please see “How can I receive my cards after they are graded?” section for all the specific details.
How can I receive my cards after they are graded?
Canadian Clients: Once returned, clients can either pick up their cards at The Comic Doctor’s office in Oshawa or arrange for the cards to be shipped back to the client mailing address via FedEx Ground, UPS or Purolator. Grading tiers will be combined and the option to ship back cards can be selected during the submission process. The shipping costs are as follows:

American Clients: Cards will be shipped directly to you from PSA headquarters via FedEx Ground. Grading tiers cannot be combined, and will ship based on tiers. The shipping costs per tier are as follows (the last line is what bulk submissions will use, priced per tier submitted – TCG, Value (Pre-1980), Value (Post-1980)):

What are the shipping costs for ungraded cards?
Cards sent for our conservation services only will be returned back to the customer at the costs outlined below. Please note that for orders that include both PSA grading and service-only cards, service-only cards will be shipped back to the customer separately as soon as the work is complete (and not wait for the graded cards to come back) and will incur the shipping costs stated below.

Can there be other charges?
PSA can upcharge based on the post-grading valuation of a card, determined solely at the discretion of PSA. It is imperative that you submit cards at the correct tiers using the right values for the cards. While this still does not guarantee an upcharge, it does drastically reduce the chances.
In the event that The Comic Doctor, at its sole discretion, determines that the fair market value is higher than the value stated by the submitter, The Comic Doctor will move the card to the appropriate higher value and the additional fee will be the responsibility of the submitter.
Any and all additional fees will be charged to the client once orders have been received back from grading, and must be paid before cards are released back to the clients.
Can these grading fees change?
PSA charge their grading fees in USD. As a result, prices can fluctuate with the exchange rate and can change without notice. Additionally, PSA can also change their fees at any time which can result in changes as well.
Are these turnaround times accurate?
With the dramatic rise in grading trading cards, PSA’s turnaround times are always changing and we would recommend that you set your expectations quite conservatively. Please reach out to us if you need to inquire about your submissions and status, and we will do our best to help.
